The Shrieker

2014 · 0h 26m · Horror, Music

Skip it. 'The Shrieker' sounds like it's reaching for atmospheric Balkan folklore horror but lands in muddled territory—a plot about guilt and vengeance is compelling in theory, but without critical backing or a recognizable creative team, this feels like a film that couldn't quite execute its promising premise. Watch something with proven scares instead.

Plot

After a hunter commits a terrible act in 19th-century Croatia, he awakens the Drekavac, a mythical creature from Balkan folklore. When the creature takes his daughter, he sets out to confront it, only to discover that its vengeance—and his own guilt—cannot easily be escaped.
