Skip it. Despite a solid cast (Matt Damon, Will Smith, Charlize Theron) and Robert Redford's direction, this is a paint-by-numbers sports redemption story that leans too hard on mystical nonsense instead of genuine character work. The golf-as-metaphor-for-life stuff feels forced, and the whole "magical caddy" angle undermines what could've been a straightforward, moving drama.

Plot

World War I has left golfer Rannulph Junuh a poker-playing alcoholic, his perfect swing gone. Now, however, he needs to get it back to play in a tournament to save the financially ravaged golf course of a long-ago sweetheart. Help arrives in the form of mysterious caddy Bagger Vance.
