Skip it. This mermaid-immortality premise sounds like it could be campy fun, but the film landed in theatrical purgatory for a reason—it's got all the hallmarks of a mid-budget fantasy that couldn't figure out whether to be serious or whimsical, and ended up being neither. Unless you're a completionist for Pierce Brosnan movies or mermaid content specifically, your time is better spent elsewhere.

Plot

King Louis XIV's quest for immortality leads him to capture and steal a mermaid's life force, a move that is further complicated by his illegitimate daughter's discovery of the creature.
