The Cutting Edge is a cheesy '80s romance that knows exactly what it is, and that self-awareness makes it weirdly entertaining—but the mediocre scores tell you it's not essential viewing. Watch it if you're in the mood for lightweight, feel-good fluff with some genuinely fun skating sequences; skip it if you want something with real substance.
Plot
Two former Olympians, one a figure skater and the other a hockey player, pin their hopes of one last shot at Olympic glory on one another. That is, of course, if they can keep from killing each other in the process...
