Skip it—'The Cricket' sounds like it's trading in heavy-handed social commentary without the storytelling chops to earn it. An impressionable woman + aging prostitute + brothel setting is well-trodden indie drama territory, and without any critical consensus to suggest this one breaks new ground, there's no reason to spend your evening here.

Plot

An impressionable young woman's relationship with an aging prostitute leads to a job as a maid at a brothel.
