The Cotton Club has the style and ambition to justify a watch—solid Rotten Tomatoes score, great cast, and that Francis Ford Coppola pedigree. Just don't expect it to be as tight as it could be; the plot meanders and the IMDb score reflects some real pacing issues, but if you're into 1980s gangster aesthetics and Harlem history, there's enough here to keep you engaged.
