Skip it. 'The Burnt Orange Heresy' has all the ingredients for a slick thriller—a heist setup, an eccentric artist, a morally compromised protagonist—but the film never quite capitalizes on them, playing things too safe and predictable. Unless you're a devoted fan of the cast, there are better art-world thrillers and crime capers out there demanding your attention.

Plot

Hired to steal a rare painting from one of the most enigmatic painters of all time, an ambitious art dealer becomes consumed by his own greed and insecurity as the operation spins out of control.

Director: Giuseppe Capotondi
