Skip it tonight unless you're a die-hard fan of the first film—this sequel trades the original's stylish vigilante charm for bloated action sequences and a convoluted plot that feels like it's going through the motions. The Boondock Saints II is competent enough if you're desperate for gun-slinging Irish brothers, but there are fresher action-thrillers worth your time.

Plot

Skillfully framed by an unknown enemy for the murder of a priest, wanted vigilante MacManus brothers Murphy and Connor must come out of hiding on a sheep farm in Ireland to fight for justice in Boston.
