Skip it—Spike Lee's stylish but unfocused take on the Son of Sam murders gets lost in its own ambition, trading genuine tension for soap opera melodrama and meandering subplots that bury the actual story. Unless you're a completist for Lee's filmography, there are better crime thrillers that'll grip you far harder tonight.
