Strawflower

· 0h 8m · Drama

Watch it tonight if you're in the mood for quiet, introspective cinema that trades plot for mood and meaning—this is a slow-burn character study about a relationship's fragile unraveling, told through garden dirt and meaningful silences. Skip it if you need narrative momentum or conventional drama; this poetic Australian indie is all atmosphere and subtext, not answers.

Plot

Teetering toward the end of the invisible string that once wound them tightly together, two distant lovers find themselves inside a vegetable garden. Set against the Australian landscape, Thea and Felix spend the afternoon in silence with dirty nails and sun-kissed cheeks. Thea can feel something is different, her anxiety causing momentum to unwanted thoughts and a palpable sense of uncertainty. Felix, in all his security, tends to the garden with ease but lacks the foresight to recognise what is at play. It is a poetic frame of impermanence, vibrancy and a flutter of evening light.

Director: Lucia Cozzi

Cast: Annabel Mance, Tom Bitti
