Skip it unless you're a die-hard Trekie or need some mindless sci-fi action. Beyond is the weakest entry in the recent Trek reboot trilogy—it plays it safe with a by-the-numbers villain and relies too heavily on CGI spectacle over the character moments and wit that made the first two films actually fun.

Plot

The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
