Skip it unless you've got restless kids to entertain. This is a by-the-numbers buddy-cop animated comedy that trades on the spy-movie formula without adding anything fresh—think Will Smith and Tom Holland's voices doing the heavy lifting while the plot trudges through predictable buddy-up-or-bust beats. It's harmless family fare, but there are sharper animated adventures worth your time tonight.

Plot

Super spy Lance Sterling and scientist Walter Beckett are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is… not. But what Walter lacks in social skills he makes up for in smarts and invention, creating the awesome gadgets Lance uses on his epic missions. But when events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way.
