Skip it. S1m0ne is a clunky, heavy-handed satire that mistakes preachiness for wit, and its central conceit—a fake actress as social commentary—feels more dated than prescient. Even with Andrew Niccol's interesting premise, the execution is tedious enough to make you wish you'd opted for literally any other film tonight.

Plot

The career of a disillusioned producer, who is desperate for a hit, is endangered when his star walks off the film set. Forced to think fast, the producer decides to digitally create an actress "Simone" to sub for the star — the first totally believable synthetic actress.
