Skip it. 'Rooks' has an intriguing time-manipulation premise that could work, but the plot description—two gifted people meeting and discovering a wider world—is pretty generic sci-fi territory we've seen done better elsewhere. Without critical backing or a recognizable cast to lean on, this feels like a B-tier concept that needed more originality or star power to justify your evening.

Plot

For years, Will has been able to control time, turning back the clocks a minute or two on rare occasion. Despite believing he understands it, Will’s perspective of his ability changes when he meets the equally gifted Nissa, who introduces him to a world where he’s not the only powered being.
