Skip it tonight unless you're in the mood for heavy melodrama—this Penny Marshall dramedy tries to balance coming-of-age struggles with addiction issues but lands in a tonally confused middle ground. Drew Barrymore carries it decently, but the film feels like it's wrestling with itself rather than giving you a clear emotional payoff worth your time.
