Skip it unless you're a die-hard zombie action junkie. This 2002 Paul W.S. Anderson adaptation is a by-the-numbers sci-fi horror flick that strips away everything compelling about the games—all neon corridors and derivative creature designs with none of the psychological dread. Even Milla Jovovich's committed performance can't save the thin plot and generic military-team-vs-mutants setup.

Plot

When a virus leaks from a top-secret facility, turning all resident researchers into ravenous zombies and their lab animals into mutated hounds from hell, the government sends in an elite military task force to contain the outbreak.
