Skip it tonight unless you've got kids demanding entertainment. Puss in Boots is a perfectly serviceable DreamWorks spinoff with charm and action, but it's basically a prequel cash-grab that doesn't break new ground—watch the original Shrek instead if you're craving that magic.

Plot
