Skip it unless you're a devoted fan of experimental French cinema—Pola X is a deliberately provocative, glacial descent into incest and moral decay that prioritizes artistic provocation over narrative coherence or emotional payoff. Leos Carax's 1999 oddity has cultivated a cult following, but for most viewers seeking drama or romance tonight, this will feel like a pretentious slog.
