Skip it. 'Penthouse North' has an intriguing premise—a blind woman's vulnerability exploited by a criminal—but this 2013 thriller never justifies its high-concept setup with actual tension or originality. It's the kind of direct-to-streaming thriller that sounds better in the pitch meeting than it plays on screen.

Plot

After losing her sight while working as a photojournalist in Afghanistan, Sara Frost, now reclusive, lives quietly in a New York penthouse with her boyfriend, until a smooth but sadistic criminal looking for a hidden fortune enters her life.

Director: Joseph Ruben
