Skip it tonight unless you've got restless kids who need entertaining—Over the Hedge is a perfectly fine family comedy with a solid premise and decent voice cast (Bruce Willis, Steve Carell), but it's the definition of serviceable DreamWorks fare that won't stick with you. Save your time for something with more bite.

Plot

A scheming raccoon fools a mismatched family of forest creatures into helping him repay a debt of food, by invading the new suburban sprawl that popped up while they were hibernating – and learns a lesson about family himself.
