Nowhere to Lay My Eyes
2026 · 1h 12m · Drama
Skip this one—it's a slow-burn family drama that hinges entirely on quiet, introspective moments and unspoken tensions, which only works if you're in the exact headspace for it. Without critical validation or a strong hook, you're taking a real gamble on whether this indie meditation on estrangement will resonate or just feel like watching paint dry.
Plot
With her brother, Sang-hee visits her mother on Jeju Island. It’s been 10 years. Her mother's restaurant has become a hit. Her stepfather is making a film about a "grass tomb". His daughter has just started painting. Previously unknown facts, needless advice, and cheap compliments are passed back and forth. On the morning of her departure, the other family members watch one of Sang-hee’s films.
