Skip it. 'Message from the King' is a forgettable revenge thriller that squanders its intriguing premise—a South African outsider taking on LA's criminal underworld—with sluggish pacing and muddled storytelling. Even with a solid cast, the film never finds its footing and plays like a half-baked action flick you've seen a dozen times before.
