Skip it. A romance-drama about literary figures creating Frankenstein sounds promising in theory, but the film never quite captures the gothic imagination or emotional intensity you'd hope for—it's more stuffy period piece than passionate love story. Unless you're specifically hunting for obscure literary biopics, you'll get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Plot

The love affair between poet Percy Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin resulted in the creation of an immortal novel, “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.”

Director: Haifaa al-Mansour
