Skip it unless you're watching with kids who loved the first Maleficent. This sequel retreads familiar dark-fairy-tale ground without adding much spark—it's competently made but forgettable, and the convoluted plot about family ties and wedding drama doesn't justify another two hours.

Plot

Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies, and dark new forces at play.
