Skip it tonight unless you're specifically hunting for feel-good indie dramas about entrepreneurship. 'Makcik Bawang' sounds like a wholesome, earnest story about a woman building a spice business while juggling family, but without any critical buzz or standout performances to elevate the formula, it's a safe-but-forgettable choice when there are more compelling options out there.
Plot
The story of Isha and Azri, who have three children and have just moved to a new place, so everything is new to them. Home, work, school and many other things. What is interesting about this family's story? Isha starts her spice paste business on a small scale by giving samples of her products to her neighboring housewives. To market the product on a larger scale, Isha takes a basic product marketing course and subsequently uses the knowledge she has learned with the help of Nabila. Isha's daily routine is filled with busyness in fulfilling customer orders for her spice paste products. However, Isha never neglects her responsibilities as a wife and also as a mother to her three children. Seeing Isha's determination, Azri's employer, Hj. Azman is willing to extend assistance to Isha to further develop her business.
