Iron Eagle

1986 · 1h 57m · Action

Iron Eagle is a cheesy 80s action flick with a ridiculous premise—a teenager flying an F-16 on a rescue mission—but if you're in the mood for unironic fun and don't mind laughable logic, it's a guilty pleasure worth a watch. Skip it if you want something smart; watch it if you want pure popcorn nonsense with jets and one-liners.

Plot

When Doug's father, an Air Force Pilot, is shot down by MiGs belonging to a radical Middle Eastern state, no one seems able to get him out. Doug finds Chappy, an Air Force Colonel who is intrigued by the idea of sending in two fighters piloted by himself and Doug to rescue Doug's father after bombing the MiG base.

Director: Sidney J. Furie
