Skip it. This 1968 Cold War thriller is a plodding, dialogue-heavy slog that wastes its intriguing premise and star power—the critics consensus speaks for itself, and even IMDb can't quite push it over the hump. Unless you're a die-hard submarine movie completist, there are better ways to spend your evening.

Plot

A top-secret Soviet spy satellite -- using stolen Western technology -- malfunctions and then goes into a descent that lands it near an isolated Arctic research encampment called Ice Station Zebra, belonging to the British, which starts sending out distress signals before falling silent. The atomic submarine Tigerfish, commanded by Cmdr. James Ferraday, is dispatched to save them.
