Skip it unless you're a die-hard '90s slasher completist. While this 1997 teen horror flick has genuine cultural staying power and solid B-movie charm, it's basically a by-the-numbers revenge thriller that doesn't hold up against its own hype—the hook killer is more silly than scary, and the mystery unravels too predictably. Watch *Scream* instead.

Plot

After an accident on a winding road, four teens make the fatal mistake of dumping their victim's body into the sea. Exactly one year later, the deadly secret resurfaces as they're stalked by a hook-handed figure.
