Skip it—this Stephen King adaptation is a forgettable, melodramatic slog that wastes a solid cast (Anthony Hopkins, David Morse) on a muddled story about a mysterious boarder that never quite lands emotionally or narratively. Life's too short for middling dramas when there are sharper options out there.
