Watch it. This is a genuinely gripping 1970s thriller with solid scores across the board—Scorsese's unflinching direction and George C. Scott's raw performance make the disturbing subject matter feel urgent rather than exploitative. It's dark and uncomfortable, but that's precisely why it matters.

Plot

A conservative Midwest businessman ventures into the sordid underworld of pornography in search of his runaway teenage daughter who’s making hardcore films in the pits of Los Angeles.
