Skip it. 'Guilty by Suspicion' tackles the important subject of McCarthyism blacklisting, but this 1991 drama plays it safe and conventional—it's a worthy historical lesson, not a gripping night's entertainment. Unless you're specifically hunting for Cold War-era cinema, you'll find better political thrillers that actually grip you.

Plot

Owing to his alleged involvement with communist parties, film director David Merrill is forbidden from working in Hollywood. He decides to fight for his rights and faces numerous challenges.
