Skip it. 'Goal!' is a paint-by-numbers sports drama that trades genuine emotion for melodrama, following a formulaic rags-to-riches soccer story with all the originality of a FIFA cutscene. Unless you're desperate for feel-good fodder with zero surprises, your time's better spent elsewhere.

Plot
