'Gator Lake' sounds like it's trying to ride the coattails of a real incident without the budget or star power to pull off either genuine scares or fun B-movie camp—it lands in that awkward middle ground where horror-comedy hybrids usually die. Unless you're specifically hunting for obscure creature features, your time is better spent elsewhere.

Plot

In 2003, Lake Jesup became the stage for a real-life horror story, as a monstrous alligator escaped from captivity and began a reign of terror. As the body count rose, a desperate hunt ensued to stop the creature.
