Skip it tonight—this Judd Apatow dramedy is a bloated mess that mistakes length for depth, dragging a solid premise about mortality and redemption into self-indulgent territory for nearly two and a half hours. Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen do their best, but even their chemistry can't save this one from feeling like a slog when you could watch something actually funny or actually moving.

Plot

Famous and wealthy funnyman George Simmons doesn't give much thought to how he treats people until a doctor delivers stunning health news, forcing George to reevaluate his priorities with a little help from aspiring stand-up comic Ira.
