Skip it unless you're a hardcore horror devotee who can handle bleak, deliberately antagonistic filmmaking. Funny Games is technically proficient and scores decently, but it's an exhausting exercise in sadism designed to punish the audience as much as the characters—not the vibe for a casual movie night.

Plot

Two psychotic young men take a mother, father, and son hostage in their vacation cabin and force them to play sadistic "games" with one another for their own amusement.
