Skip it—Firebird is a competent but forgettable Cold War romance that doesn't justify its premise. The forbidden love-triangle setup has been done better elsewhere, and without critical buzz or standout performances to lean on, it's just another middling period drama that won't stick with you.

Plot

At the height of the Cold War, a troubled soldier forms a forbidden love triangle with a daring fighter pilot and his female comrade amid the dangerous surroundings of a Soviet Air Force Base.
