Skip it unless you're in the mood for goofy early-2000s schlock—this Ivan Reitman comedy has charm in its cast (Duchovny and Moore elevate the material) and doesn't take itself seriously, but the humor lands unevenly and the alien-creature-feature plot feels thin. It's the kind of movie that's fun in retrospect as a time capsule, not necessarily tonight.

Plot

A comedy that follows the chaos that ensues when a meteor hits the Earth carrying alien life forms that give new meaning to the term "survival of the fittest." David Duchovny, Orlando Jones, Seann William Scott, and Julianne Moore are the only people standing between the aliens and world domination... which could be bad news for the Earth.
