This Hungarian drama has the makings of a compelling mystery—a son uncovering a dark family secret through archival evidence—but without scores or a recognizable cast to lean on, it's a risky bet for tonight. Unless you're specifically in the mood for slow-burn Eastern European cinema about post-WWII intrigue, you might want to grab something with proven crowd-pleasing credentials.
Plot
Péter is determined to learn the whole truth about his father's death. According to his mother, he was killed on the battle-line on the 2nd of December, 1944. However, a friend of his father's, Kánitz, a film director, shows him a fragment of a film in which he can be seen in the middle of December.
