Skip it unless you're a die-hard YA dystopia fan. Divergent plays it safe with a predictable faction-based world and a by-the-numbers plot about a special girl who doesn't fit in—it's Hunger Games-lite without the emotional punch or world-building that makes that franchise work.

Plot

In a world divided into factions based on personality types, Tris learns that she's been classified as Divergent and won't fit in. When she discovers a plot to destroy Divergents, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it's too late.
