Skip this one—a kidnapping-and-murder plot wrapped in a marriage-drama package sounds like it's trying to do too much, and without critical validation or buzz, it's likely a muddled mess that neither commits to intimate character study nor tense thriller. Life's too short to gamble on a film that can't decide what it wants to be.

Plot

A Japanese man and his Chinese-American wife struggle with work, parenting, and caregiving in NYC. Their strained life spirals when their son is kidnapped, leading to murder. Unspoken truths and secrets surface, deepening their rift. Can they rebuild their shattered vision of a "happy family"?
