Ralph Bakshi's 'Coonskin' is a bold, visually daring satire that swings wildly between live-action and animation to tackle race, crime, and American mythology—it's messy and provocative in ways modern cinema rarely attempts. If you're in the mood for something genuinely transgressive and artistically ambitious rather than comfortable, absolutely watch it tonight.

Plot

A multi-layered satire of race relations in America. Live-action sequences of a prison break bracket the animated tale of Brother Rabbit, Brother Bear, and Preacher Fox, who rise to the top of the crime ranks in Harlem by going up against a con-man, a racist cop, and the Mafia.
