City of Refuge

Name: City of Refuge
Genre: Drama, Crime

Skip it. 'City of Refuge' sounds like a well-intentioned faith-based drama, but the premise feels paint-by-numbers: redemption arc + small town + religious awakening = predictable slog. Without critical scores to justify the hype, you're better off spending tonight on something with actual bite.

Plot

In this modern-day retelling of an Old Testament concept, a gang member flees pursuers seeking vengeance and finds himself in the small town of Refuge, Florida, where the residents welcome him in and help him discover the calling of God.
