Watch it tonight if you're in the mood for something genuinely innovative and humanizing—this groundbreaking 1960 doc invented the interview-based format and still feels refreshingly intimate. It's a short, accessible meditation on how ordinary Parisians navigate hardship, anchored by the infectious curiosity of Rouch and Morin. Not flashy, but deeply rewarding for anyone willing to slow down.

Plot

Paris, summer 1960. Anthropologist and filmmaker Jean Rouch and sociologist and film critic Edgar Morin wander through the crowded streets asking passersby how they cope with life's misfortunes.
