China Moon has the bones of a solid neo-noir thriller—a cop-and-accomplice murder cover-up with mounting paranoia—but this 1994 mystery never quite justifies a full night's commitment. The premise is intriguing enough for a lazy watch, but it's the kind of forgettable thriller that disappears the moment credits roll.

Plot

Detective Kyle Bodine falls for Rachel Munro who is trapped in a violent marriage. After she shoots her husband, Kyle relucantly agrees to help hide the body, but his partner is showing an unusual flair for finding clues.
