Skip this one. 'Child of God' is a bleak, unpleasant slog through depravity that the critics themselves couldn't agree was worth your time—and with middling scores across the board, there's no cult classic redemption story here either. Life's too short for a movie this miserable that doesn't even entertain.

Plot

A dispossessed, violent man's life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Successively deprived of parents and homes and with few other ties, he descends to the level of a cave dweller and falls deeper into crime and degradation.
