Despite a genuinely unsettling premise, 'Awake' fumbles the execution badly—critics and audiences alike have largely rejected it. Unless you're a completist for anesthesia horror or have nothing better to queue up, skip this one and save your evening for something with better odds of actually keeping you engaged.

Plot

While undergoing heart surgery, a man experiences a phenomenon called ‘anesthetic awareness’, which leaves him awake but paralyzed throughout the operation. As various obstacles present themselves, his wife must make life-altering decisions while wrestling with her own personal drama.
