Skip this one. 'Anesthesia' is a muddled ensemble drama that tries to weave together too many narrative threads around a single mugging incident, resulting in a pretentious slog that never justifies its own existence. Even if you're in the mood for a philosophy professor getting punched, there are better explorations of trauma and interconnection out there.

Plot

Multiple lives intersect in the aftermath of the violent mugging of a Columbia University philosophy professor.

Director: Tim Blake Nelson

Cast: Glenn Close, K. Todd Freeman, Jessica Hecht, Gretchen Mol, Tim Blake Nelson
