Skip it unless you're a die-hard Spielberg completist—this 1989 supernatural romance is a rare misfire from the director, bogged down by saccharine sentimentality and a premise that never quite takes flight. The chemistry between the leads doesn't compensate for the melodramatic plotting, so you'd be better off revisiting Spielberg's genuinely moving work tonight.

Plot

The spirit of a recently deceased expert pilot mentors a newer pilot while watching him fall in love with the girlfriend that he left behind.

Director: Steven Spielberg
