Unless you're a die-hard Danny Glover fan or genuinely desperate for holiday comfort food, skip this one—the critics' middling scores reflect a movie that can't quite decide if it wants to be funny or touching, and ends up being neither particularly well. There are better dysfunctional family comedies out there, and better Christmas movies too.
