Skip it. While the premise of a kid-on-the-run thriller has potential, 'A Picture' sounds like it's trying to be both a heavy crime drama and a quirky comedy, and that tonal split rarely works without a trusted filmmaker behind it. Without critical scores or recognizable talent to lean on, this feels like a risky bet for a night in.

Plot

Twelve-year-old Abdullah loves photography, so when his father gives him a new camera to reward him for getting good grades at school, he is thrilled. But while he is out and about taking shots, he inadvertently takes a picture of a crime in progress, and soon, the bandits are after him, intent on destroying the evidence. Dramatic with some clever comic relief, ‘A Picture’ is a great play on the old adage that crime doesn’t pay.
